Special Education
Vision Statement
We envision inclusive schools where every student is seen, heard, and supported—empowered to lead their learning with confidence and connection. Through strong relationships, creative problem-solving, and whole-child collaboration, special education becomes a bridge—not a boundary—to opportunity, voice, and lifelong growth.
Mission Statement
At Glenn County Office of Education, we provide person-centered, solutions-focused special education services rooted in equity, collaboration, and the belief that all students are general education students first. We work in partnership with families, educators, and community agencies to deliver inclusive, wrap-around supports that foster self-advocacy, student leadership, and lifelong learning. Guided by grace, patience, and confidence in every student’s potential, we build the capacity of individuals and systems through teamwork, resilience, and intentional engagement.

Grounded in the belief that all students are general education students first, we provide person-centered, solutions-focused special education services rooted in equity, collaboration, and ethical responsibility. Our approach is driven by core values—not just as abstract ideas, but as daily commitments to doing what is right for students, families, and schools.
We work in close partnership with families, general education staff, and every Local Education Agency in Glenn County to deliver high-quality services tailored to the unique needs of each student, at every campus. Upon graduation, our goal is that every student understands their disability, recognizes their strengths, identifies the help they need, and is confident in advocating for themselves. Through individualized education plans (IEPs), professional development for educators, and strong connections to community resources, we create a collaborative environment where students thrive.
We approach every decision with intentionality and integrity—ensuring that inclusion is not just a service model, but a guiding principle that defines our work.
