Community Schools

The California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP) represents a significant investment by the state to transform schools into comprehensive community hubs. With a $3 billion commitment, California aims to provide sufficient resources for every high-poverty school to become a community school within five years. This initiative focuses on strengthening existing community schools and establishing new ones, particularly in areas with demonstrated need, to deliver a whole-child education that supports students, families, and communities.

The program's intent is to create networks of community schools supported by local education agencies (LEAs), coordinating with other state investments in youth behavioral health, expanded learning, and professional development for educators. By fostering strong partnerships with community organizations and businesses, the CCSPP seeks to improve student and family outcomes, especially in under-resourced and marginalized communities. This comprehensive approach aims to address the diverse needs of students and families, ultimately enhancing student learning outcomes and creating more resilient, supportive educational environments across California.
