Children & Youth Behavioral Health Hub
The Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) is a California statewide effort to improve access to health and wellness supports for children and young people.
Sustainability Strategy
Implementation is now underway with participation from the County Office of Education and local school districts demonstrating readiness. Counselors, social workers, and lead care managers will be completing non-clinical needs assessments to better understand student and family needs, including housing, food access, transportation, safety, and legal support. These assessments help connect families to community resources, including wellness coach services provided in the school setting. Ordering/Referring/Prescribing (ORP) providers will review care plans while clinical supervisors maintain weekly oversight.Community Involvement
At the program and district level, school leaders, behavioral health providers, and industry partners are working together to expand student access to career exploration and hands-on learning experiences. At the same time, students are being supported with wellness services such as mental health, behavioral health, and social supports. These services help students stay engaged in school and build long-term success.
At the county level, the Glenn County Office of Education is working closely with health system leaders, county agencies, and community organizations to help clarify roles and build strong partnerships for improving mental and behavioral health services outlined in the California Department of Public Health’s Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA). It focuses on prevention, early support, and better coordination between different systems. This collaboration helps schools, health providers, and community groups work together more effectively to identify needs early and connect people to the right support services.
Evaluation & Improvement
The Glenn County Office of Education is committed to ongoing improvement. Partners communicate regularly through meetings, newsletters, and evaluation reports to share progress and updates. Data is used to improve coordination, strengthen services, and guide decision-making. This ongoing process helps build a stronger regional system that supports student wellness, academic success, and economic mobility.
