Glenn County Office of Education is a proud partner of the following Career Events. The Glenn County WAI Director & Vocational Specialist are active members of each of the event committees and supports our students throughout the events.
Annual Explorers Faire
Calling all K-8 Explorers & Families!
Location: the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds in Chico.
Join us for this no cost, K-8 family event where students will participate in interactive hands-on activities from STEAM booths provided by our local businesses, industry, high school, and Butte College.
Please help us pass on this information to your K-8 families as they will not want to miss this phenomenal event!

SME Manufacturing Expo
GMI, in partnership with Chico State organization, Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), will hold its Fifth Annual Manufacturing Expo at CSU, Chico. The Expo will offer activities to attending guests, Tours of CSU Chico’s technology and engineering labs, and Breakout Sessions on manufacturing and career building skill
Glenn County 8th Grade Exploratory Day
“Future Journey”
Glenn County Schools and Glenn County Office of Education will host an 8th Grade Exploratory Day for all 8th grade students in Glenn County. The event aims to allow students the opportunity to explore a variety of future career options through interactive, hands-on learning experiences.
The “Future Journey” themed event will provide hands-on experiences led by industry experts in a variety of professions in 16 career pathways. Peer mentoring and leadership experiences will be provided to 8th grade students by high school Career Technical Student Leadership Organizations and clubs. There will be a showcasing of career pathways by each local high school, and engaging student competitions.
The 8th Grade Exploratory Day is sponsored by the Glenn County Career Technical Education Consortium/Collaborative and is funded through the Career Technical Incentive Grant (CTEIG). The event will take place at the Glenn County Fairgrounds, 221 E Yolo St. Orland, CA
Students will be transported by their school districts.Lunch will be provided.

Glenn County Career Technical Education (CTE)
Consortium/Collaborative
The Glenn County CTE Consortium/Collaborative is a dedicated group of Glenn County CTE Leaders, Administrators, and Teachers & Counselors who have committed to Career Technical Education & supported activities to build a strong CTE Continuum for all students in Glenn County. The CTE Consortium/Collaborative was formed in 2015 as a direct result of the dismantling of ROP through California Department of Education & Redesign of the Perkins Consortium in the state. With new funding through CTEIG, Glenn County Leaders came together to form the CTE Consortium/Collaborative.

Career Technical Education Incentive Grant (CTEIG)
The California Career Technical Education Incentive Grant (CTEIG) program is established as a state education, economic, and workforce development initiative with the goal of providing pupils in kindergarten through grade twelve with the knowledge and skills necessary to transition to employment and postsecondary education. The purpose of this program is to encourage and maintain the delivery of career technical education (CTE) programs during implementation of the school district and charter school local control funding formula (LCFF) pursuant to California Education Code (EC) Section 42238.02.
