Policy Council

"Parents as Decision Makers"

The Policy Council is an elected group of parents and community members who work with the Director to ensure our programs are high quality and supportive of families. Along with the Superintendent of Schools, the Policy Council plays an important role in program governance. Each meeting, a manager, supervisor, or specialist provides training to the Policy Council on a different aspect of the program's operations. Policy Council members meet monthly to discuss program issues, review goals, approve grants and budgets, and make recommendations for improving our services. it is an excellent opportunity for parents to work with other parents in making shared decisions for the program.  If you are interested in serving on the Policy Council as a community member, please contact our office at 530-865-1145.

Meeting Dates

The Policy Council meetings are the 4th Wednesday of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., excluding the months of December, June, and July. Meeting sites alternate between Orland and Willows unless indicated as virtual.  Content area training will be specific to EHS/HS services and programs to ensure ongoing training to PC members.  At the PC meeting, content area specialists will briefly describe their responsibilities as they relate to the Performance Standards and provide PC members with a hand-out, bulleted agenda or training materials for the “content area training” for their PC binder. Please complete the content area training template and turn in to Kassy at the beginning of the month you are scheduled to train. This form will be translated and provided to PC members in their packets.
