Senior Nutrition
We provide nutritious
noon meals for seniors 60 years of age and older.
Our mission is to enable seniors to maintain maximum health, independence and dignity by providing nutritious meals in group and home settings with access to supportive services.
For eligible older persons, the Senior Nutrition Program provides a nutritious meal delivered to the home. A formal needs assessment is required for participation in the home-delivered meals program.
To be eligible for home-delivered meals, the senior citizen must be:
- Age 60 or more
- Homebound due to illness, incapacity or disability, or be otherwise isolated
- Determined to be in need of service within the policies set by the Area Agency on Aging and the nutrition service provider
Persons age 60 and over are eligible to participate, and underage spouses may participate as well. Recreational and social activities are included at the sites (see below).
A donation of $3.00 or more is requested but is not mandatory, and the guest fee is $7.50.
Please RSVP to the Nutrition Site where you plan to take your meal. If you cannot make it, please cancel your reservation if possible.
Transportation services are available in Orland. Please call nutrition sites for more information.
