Glenn Chorale
A Little History and How You Can Join
The Glenn Chorale was formed in 1981 as a community choir for those who enjoy singing in 3 and 4 part harmony. Singers of all ages and musical abilities are encouraged to join.
• No auditions are held for incoming singers and all abilities and levels of singers are encouraged to attend.
• Rehearsals for the Christmas Concert begin in late August and culminate in a concert on the first Sunday
in December.
• Rehearsals for the Christmas Concert will begin on August 23, 2022 and culminate with a concert on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Orland Memorial Hall. Rehearsals are held every Monday night from 7:00 to 9:00 pm during rehearsal season at Glenn Success Square in Studio 129 at 129 E. Walker Street.
• Singers of all ages are welcome to attend, however, a minimum age of 16 is suggested. Music for the season is on loan for a music usage fee of $10.00 per person.
The Glenn Chorale has traveled extensively, performing in such countries as Germany/Austria in 1997; Scotland, England and Wales in 2001, Italy in 2004, Washington DC in 2005, and Greece in 2007.
To register for the Fall 2022 Spring Concert season, just drop by either the Orland or Willows offices and complete a registration packet. If you want to participate just for the fun of it, come on in and meet your fellow singers.

Rehearsal Schedule and Concert Date
All rehearsals are held in Studio 129 at Glenn Success Square, 129 E. Walker Street in Orland.
• Rehearsals begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m.
• At the first rehearsal, sign in and receive your folder of music that has been selected for the
concert performance.
• A $10.00 Music Usage Fee is collected at the first rehearsal and allows the use of the music
for rehearsal and performance purposes. All music is turned in immediately following the Concert.
Glenn Chorale Scholarships
The Fern Sligar Scholarship is sponsored by Dr. Gene and Shirley Russell to honor Shirley's mother, Fern Sligar. This scholarship is awarded to eligible Glenn County high school students selected for their interest in music.
Everett Edwards Memorial Scholarship Fund
At each Spring Concert in May, scholarships are awarded to eligible Glenn County high school students selected for their interest in music.
Funds for scholarships are derived from donations made at the refreshment table at the two main concerts held each year. The Glenn Chorale is a state and federally-recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit and all donations to the Scholarship Fund are tax deductible.
