California Streaming will be announcing this year's theme "Imagination" soon.  Check back for details.

Each year the California County Educational Technology Consortium (CCETC), of which Glenn County Office of Education is a member of, hosts a digital photography contest. All California students and educators are eligble to participate, and winners receive an iPod and will have their photographs featured on a collectable poster and websites. In 2009 several Glenn County students received Honoral Mentions (see below).

Why use digital resources? From Talk Nerdy to Me; Educational Technology is Not just for Geeks (Follett Software eNews October 4, 2007):

Educational technology-using technology to enhance the teaching process does the following:
  1. Involves the student in the learning process.
  2. Helps to minimize most discipline problems.
  3. Allows students to take ownership of the project.
  4. Transforms the teacher from authority expert to facilitator.
  5. Provides a familiar space for students.
  6. Reduces the workload on teachers.
  7. Allows for a smooth transition from school to work, and school to college.
  8. Allows for the free exchange of information.
We have subscriptions to several digital resources for use for those schools that have a contract with us (see below). Take the time to explore and use these in the classroom. If you need help getting started (including passcodes), using any of the media, or want a demonstration contact us.
