Wide Area Network Services
| | A wide area network is a network of linked computers that spans a relatively large geographical area. For Glenn County Office of Education, this means all the computers in our schools and administration sites throughout Glenn County. To achieve this, our Information Technology Services department participates in a statewide K-12/Higher Education network called CENIC. By providing Internet access via CENIC, the Glenn County Office of Education is able to provide a reliable high-speed Internet connection to all our sites. GCOE has a dedicated DS3 (45mb) to the CENIC Internet. The GCOE Wide Area Network consists of: - CSME (Optiman) 100Mb Ethernet
- 9 T1 (1.5Mb) connections
- 11 DSL connections
As part of the Wide Area Network services, we manage and monitor all perimeter routers, including intrusion detection and network authentication services. | |
