| | The Glenn County Office of Education is in the midst of a building boom, financed by Proposition 47 & 55, the Kindergarten-University Public Education Facilities Bond Acts of 2002 and 2004. Propositions 47 & 55 allowed the state of California to issue about $21.3 billion of general obligation bonds for construction and renovation of K-12 school facilities. After more than two years of paperwork and approval efforts, the Glenn County Office of Education has been awarded over $10 million for new construction and modernization of school facilities. Because GCOE qualified as a 100% Financial Hardship District – which means that GCOE had no extra funds available to add to bond allocations – the bond funds will finance 100% of the costs of construction and renovation. The Facilities Department is now overseeing eight new construction projects and one modernization project. Click the links below for details and photographs of individual projects.

While these projects are the current focus of the Facilities Department, emergencies will pre-empt all other work. Any situation that threatens immediate danger or harm to students or faculty will receive highest priority. | |
