| | The Tehama Street Infant/Toddler Program provides a center Early Head Start and childcare experience for children 8 weeks to 3 years of age. Children’s activities and experiences encourage early development and preparation for preschool. The center is licensed to care for 14 full-time infants and toddlers.
When 7:30 am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Infant/Toddler Center remains open year-round, closing only for 13 legal holidays. Where Tehama Infant/Toddler Center is part of the Tehama Street Children’s Center, which also serves preschool age children. Who Children may be enrolled as soon as they turn 8 weeks and can continue in the program until they turn 3. Families are allowed flexible childcare schedules based upon the hours they need childcare for reasons of work, school/training, job search, or if they are incapacitated. The program is available at low or no cost to families eligible by Head Start and State income guidelines or who are homeless, referred by CPS, or receiving public assistance. Family fees, if any, are based upon the income and size of the family. Benefits - The Early Head Start Infant/Toddler Program provides a safe indoor and outdoor environment where children are nurtured and encouraged to explore, learn, and grow.
- The program is staffed by qualified teachers possessing ECE units and permits, who are consistent caregivers throughout the child’s enrollment.
- The curriculum is individualized and appropriate to each child’s development.
- The program provides nutritious balanced meals (breakfast, lunch, and snack) that meet Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines.
- Staff work with parents to ensure that children have good physical and dental health essential for learning, and are available to assist families with their needs.
