Professional Development Calendar- GCOE
CTAP: To assist schools in Region 2 to integrate and sustain the use of technology that supports instructional practices based on principles of effective learning, staff development and organizational improvement.
State Content Standards: Content standards were designed to encourage the highest achievement of every student, by defining the knowledge, concepts, and skills that students should acquire at each grade level. - Mathematics: Information that all students in California public schools should know and be able to do in mathematics, emphasizing computational and procedural skills, conceptual understanding, and problem solving
- Language Arts: Information to help students achieve progressive levels of mastery so that they may communicate effectively in English and, ultimately, participate fully in society and the world of work
- History: Information that defines the knowledge, concepts, and skills students should acquire at each grade level
- Science: Information that represents the content of science education and includes the essential skills and knowledge students will need to be scientifically literate citizens in the twenty-first century
- Physical Education: Resources for developing quality physical education programs designed to provide students with knowledge and ability needed to maintain active, healthy lifestyles
- Visual and Performing Arts: Information that represents the skills, knowledge, and abilities in dance, music, theatre, and the visual arts that all students should be able to master from prekindergarten to grade 12.
