| | The McKinney-Vento Education Act and Project HELP are designed to help promote educational success for children and families who are in transition. | |

| | Our mission is that all children have access to a free and appropriate public education. | |
|
| | If your family lives in any of the following situations, then your pre-school and school aged children have certain rights or protections under the McKinney-Vento Education Assistance Act, Title X, Part C of "No Child Left Behind." - In a shelter, motel, vehicle or campground
- Doubled up wtih friends or family because of economic hardship
- In a trailer park or substandard housing
- In a public or private place not designed for sleeping
- Awaiting foster care placement
Your children have a right to: - Immediately enroll in school with or without the proper documentation or immunization records.
- Remain in the school of origin (the school the child last attended) for the duration of the academic year
- Transportation provided to and from the school of origin
- Enroll without having to give a permanent address or proof of residency

- Assistance for families when they enroll their children in school
- Assistance for schools and families in locating lost or misplaced school records
- Referral assistance for medical and dental appointments when needed
- Help for families in enrolling their pre-school aged youth
- Help in getting immunization records
- Help to defray the cost of transportation to and from the school of origin
- School supplies, backpacks, clothes and shoes
- Trainings and awareness about families in transition
- Scholarships for school-related activities
