| | Each SPARK School has three After-School Program staff positions: | |

| | The SPARK governing structure was developed by a district-wide after-school program planning meeting, with input from parents, students, staff, administrators and community partners throughout the county. The structure includes:

| | | Group | Members | Responsibilities | Meets | | | | | | Glenn After School Program Collaborative | Student/parent representatives from each school site, princpals, faculty, local business owners and personnel from other school site programs (Healthy Start, Even Start, etc.) | Creates committees (education, recreation, volunteer, prevention, family involvement, etc.); recommends, develops curriculum and schedules; establishes policy handbook and site utilization policy; determines equipment use, etc.; and communicates with school site committees. | Monthly | | School Site Council | Staff, teachers, parents, students and school administrators at each site. | Addresses specific site problems and issues. Makes recommendations to program collaborative. | Monthly the first year, quarterly after that. | | Student Advisory Council | Students elected by age group from first and second grade cluster, third and fourth grade cluster, and fifth through eighth grade cluster. | Meets with site coordinator and instructional specialist to discuss program content and suggest ideas for inclusion and change in both the education and enrichment components of the program.
