This event is to commemorate Child Abuse Prevention Month and is sponsored by United Families Parent Board, Hamilton City Resource Center and numerous Glenn County community partners. - May 29, 2008 Young Writer's Festival. St. Dominic's Parish Hall 822 A Street, Orland, 9 AM- 2:30 PM. Open to 5th through 8th grade students attending Glenn County Schools, $10 entry fee. Deadline to submit entries is Friday, May 2, 2008. All entries will be read and scored by the committee of judges prior to the Festival Workshop on May 29th. Students are encouraged to write from the following fields: fiction, non-fiction, biography, autobiography, poetry or journalism articles for their entries. Enjoy Activated Storytellers and Authors Mike Graf and Michael Elsohn Ross, author of Cricketology, Snug as a Bug and other award-winning books.
