Fingerprinting
Due to the adoption of Assembly Bill 1610 and 1612, all applicants offered employment requiring a California Credential or Permit in a school district must have fingerprint clearance for conducting background investigation through the Department of Justice.
Live Scan
The California Department of Justice (DOJ) has developed an automated background check process that requires digitized fingerprints, using a process called Live Scan. The Live Scan inkless fingerprints are electronically transmitted to the central computers at the DOJ in a matter of seconds, instead of the days required to send inked fingerprint cards through the mail.
To expedite the fingerprinting process for GCOE applicants, the Glenn County Office of Education has a Live Scan facility at the Willows office:
311 South Villa Avenue, Willows, CA 95988
Fingerprints are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. To make an appointment, please contact Glenn County Office of Education at 934-6575.Ext. 3150.
